Edexcel offers a wide range of professional programs which are branded "BTECn (earlier known as Business &
Technical Education Council, UK). These qualifications are work related qualifications suitable for a wide range of learners, built to accommodate the needs of employers and provide the knowledge, skills and understanding needed in the workplace.

The BTEC brand represents an enduring vocational qualification undertaken in readiness for the workplace or continued study. BTECs are developed in consultation with employers, sector skills councils and industry to align them to employers' needs. In the last ten years, 5.5 million people have studied BTECs.

The students who complete an Edexcel BTEC qualification earn UCAS points, which helps them in admissions in Universities in the UK.

The BTEC qualifications can offer the learner the opportunity to progress to the first, second or third year of a related undergraduate degree in the UK, US and Australia. These qualifications are not recognised by the Indian Universities I AIU for credit purposes.

The BTEC qualification is developed into levels using the UKs National Qualification Framework (NQF).
