The SAT is 3 hours and 50 minutes long, which includes the optional 50 minute essay. The test is divided into two sections: evidence based reading and writing sections, which consists of a reading test, writing test and language test; and the math section which is divided into two parts: math test- calculator and maths test – no calculator. The score range of the new SAT is 400 –1600. Essay is 6 – 24.
